It is to this end that much work is done to improve education in these rural areas. Lesotho Overland Tours cc

therefore aims to drive prosperity into its chosen operational regions. This is very important to us. Your Host and founder of Lesotho Overland Tours is Geoff Dutton who lives in Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal.

With his father and grandparents originating from the Lesotho highlands, his passion for the region is in his blood. It was while studying for a degree in Environmental Management at

the University of KwaZulu-Natal that he combined his love for nature and rural Africa by planning many trips with friends and fellow students into the rugged Drakensberg Mountains and Lesotho highlands.

His specialised skills in bush survival and off-road driving saw him conducting many expeditions and camping trips into these mountains. It was through these experiences that he developed a love for

the people, the wild mountains and spectacular beauty of Lesotho. As his reputation for conducting exciting and professional trips increased it wasn’t long before they became sought after by local and foreign students alike.

Eventually a business developed focussing on sharing some of these unique experiences with his guests. The greatest appeal is surely his commitment to give attention to

  • detail and a high level of customer care while ensuring tours are non-commercialised, exciting and represent a true African experience.

The development of this business has also enabled him to launch the Reach One, Teach One campaign that aides his burning desire to improve the livelihoods of the local villagers by enhancing the quality of education in the

region. Geoff is a registered tour operator and has a National Certificate in Tourism (Guiding).

Reach One, Teach One campaign is an initiative aimed at implementing and achieving the goals of improving the education levels in these villages especially in the very remote community near the Senqu River. Get involved in this concept and help change a
